2013 Renewables in Remote Microgrids

When: June 25 - 26, 2013
Pre-conference, June 24, 2013

Where: MaRS Discovery District, Toronto

The Pembina Institute and Bullfrog Power are partnering to bring experts, community members, manufacturers and researchers from across North America to Toronto. The groups will discuss how we can learn from major recent successes in places such as Alaska and Australia, and how forward-thinking policies such as Ontario’s groundbreaking Green Energy and Economy Act can benefit remote communities and grow domestic clean energy investment, expertise and manufacturing capacity.

Attendees will understand how enabling indigenous and other communities to develop local clean energy projects can help these communities displace their reliance on diesel fuel. Participants will also be exposed to the benefits and opportunities both domestic and abroad.
