The leaders of G8 and G20 countries will meet in Muskoka and Toronto from June 25–27 at summits chaired by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Government of Canada has faced international criticism in recent weeks for downplaying climate change in preparing for the summits, but now says that climate change will be part of the summits’ agendas.
The Pembina Institute will have representatives available in Toronto at the International Media Centre and in Ottawa to comment on climate change developments and Canada’s performance.
Pembina’s backgrounder on climate change at the 2010 G8 and G20 summits is attached, and is also available at /pub/2010.
