Pembina Institute welcomes new oilsands director

Jennifer Grant has studied the impacts of oilsands development in Alberta, downstream in the North and along proposed pipelines in B.C.

CALGARY, AB - The Pembina Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Grant as the new director of its oilsands program.

Grant brings a wealth of experience working on environmental management of the oilsands, a passion for collaboration, and a deep commitment to achieving lasting solutions.

She has researched and written numerous reports on oilsands issues, acted as a media spokesperson, and represented the Institute in various multistakeholder processes. Grant joined the Pembina Institute as an oilsands policy analyst in 2006 and most recently served as director of the Arctic program.

Grant holds a Master of Science degree in ecosystem management from the University of Calgary.

Grant replaces Simon Dyer, who is assuming the position of policy director for the Pembina Institute, where he will oversee policy advocacy on climate change, oilsands, renewable energy, energy efficiency and transportation.
