This report describes existing international government policies for managing and promoting the production and consumption of bioenergy in selected countries around the world and compares such policies with those in place in Canada. The report was completed for Industry Canada and it is designed to benchmark the range and scale of policy options that have been implemented in select jurisdictions around the world. Policies in Norway, Sweden, Finland, the United States, Brazil, South Africa, Germany and the United Kingdom are considered in this report.
