Representatives from governments around the world will be meeting in Doha, Qatar beginning November 26 through December 7 for the 18th annual United Nations Conference of the Parties.
The conference participants are trying to make progress on global efforts to prevent dangerous climate change. The talks in Doha are expected to secure a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol and the workplan for negotiating the next global agreement, as well as support for climate action in poorer countries through the Green Climate Fund.
The Pembina Institute will be monitoring the conference from Canada and will be available for comment on general developments in the negotiations and Canada’s role in those developments.
