CALGARY — The Alberta Government has promised a series of strategy announcements leading up to next month’s climate change talks in Paris. The Pembina Institute has experts that can examine in depth the potential impacts of these strategies to media audiences.

The Alberta government has indicated its strategy will focus on four areas: coal phase out, renewables, energy efficiency and putting a price on carbon. These are the four areas Pembina focussed on during our 2015 Alberta Climate Change Summit held this September in Edmonton. During our submission to the provincial climate change panel we also stressed the importance of addressing issues surrounding oilsands development and methane emissions.

Pembina was founded in Alberta. For three decades our staff has worked with governments, industry and other environmental groups to implement responsible resource development and lead the transition to clean energy. This work is done with a keen awareness of the need to balance environmental and economic concerns.
