CALGARY — This Thursday Business Renewables Centre Canada (BRC Canada) will hold its inaugural all member event. The event is the first of its kind for corporate energy users (buyers) to learn more about renewable energy procurement in Canada and network with other buyers and renewable energy suppliers (developers and intermediaries). Corporate and institutional renewable energy procurement is already a strong economic driver in the U.S. and is rapidly developing in Canada.
Leading national and international brands such as Amazon, Cargill, Maple Leaf Foods, RBC, and others, along with pipeline and oil and gas companies will be among over 30 organizations participating in this launch event along with renewable energy project developers and intermediaries. Sara Hastings-Simon, founding director of BRC Canada, will be giving the keynote address, “The State of the Market”, on why Alberta is poised for rapid growth in corporate procurement, followed by lessons learned from the recently announced Rattlesnake Ridge 117 MW wind project outside Medicine Hat.
Date: Thursday, October 17
Time: 9:00 a.m. start for the keynote address, “The State of the Market”, followed by lessons learned from the recent Rattlesnake Ridge 117 MW wind project. Media are invited to arrive after 8:30 a.m.
