While we expect that electrification is likely to be a key component in the transition to clean transportation for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs), we recognize that it will not be feasible for all classes, and there will also be a period of transition as the existing stock of fossil-powered vehicles remain on the road for the next 20 to 25 years. Consequently, alternative fuels can and will play a key role in reducing emissions from MHDVs. However, this role will differ significantly from different classes and vocations, which will be explored in the Clearing the Air: Clean Fuels Awareness Webinar Series.
This invitation-only series of webinars will discuss the real-world experiences with transitioning to alternative fuels for each vehicle class, and how alternative fuels fit within the decarbonization pathways for MHDV vocations.
