Pembina Summit Speaker Series

Preparing to prosper in the new energy economy with our special guest, Mary Burce Warlick, Deputy Executive Director, International Energy Agency

Private Reception
Oct. 22, 2024 4:00pm - 8:00pm ( MST )
Downtown Calgary location to be announced

The Pembina Summit Speaker series welcomes invited guests to a special evening dedicated to discussing international trends on energy and low-carbon growth, and the urgent need to futureproof Canada’s economy. Join us for exploration, dialogue and networking, with our special guest, Mary Burce Warlick, Deputy Executive Director, International Energy Agency.

The IEA forecasts that, in 2024, total energy investment worldwide will likely exceed $3 trillion for the first time, with $2 trillion set to go toward clean technologies (renewables, electric vehicles, efficiency improvements, heat pumps, and more). If Canada is to capitalize on the opportunities presented by this global shift to low-carbon models of growth – and if it is to avoid losing out on net-zero aligned investment and good, clean energy jobs – the pace of policy change and industrial strategy across the country needs to rapidly increase.

If you're interested in attending this event, please reach out to summit@pembina.org.

This year, the Pembina Summit Speaker Series will make the case for renewed urgency and ambition among influencers and leaders. Audience members can engage critically with the IEA’s perspective on global scenarios, learn how other countries are forging ahead in strategically important areas, and consider what Canada and Alberta can do to build on existing strengths and prepare to prosper in the new energy economy.
