Nancy Wright is the COO of Competent Boards and former chief operating officer for GLOBE Series, where she spent 25 years building and hosting what became one of the most famous brands of leadership summits for sustainable business in the world. With Competent Boards she is able to take the global, multi-sectoral knowledge gained over many years in the sustainability space to create impact in the corporate governance arena. She has been on the Pembina Institute's board of directors since 2020 and is currently the vice-chair.
As head of operations for Competent Boards, Nancy is responsible for overall company operations, corporate strategy, people management, and marketing. She serves as the steadying force in charge of establishing organizational clarity, communication and consistency; helping to drive results, team unity, prioritization and follow-through. She has also facilitated cohorts of senior business leaders for both of Competent Boards’ flagship education programs, and leads bespoke board engagements. Nancy has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and holds a Global Competent Boards Sustainability & ESG Designation (GCB.D) as well as a Climate and Nature Designation (CCB.D).
