Lejla Latifovic is senior communications lead for the Communities and Decarbonization team with the Pembina Institute, focused on the transportation program. She is based in Toronto.
Lejla has ten years of experience in communications in the environmental sector, passionately promoting clean energy initiatives across Canada with the Canadian Wind Energy Association, which subsequently merged with the Canadian Solar Industries Association to form CanREA. She also brings years of experience in project management and strategy with a creative agency and a private company in Ottawa. At McMaster University, Lejla served as a teaching assistant in the School of Earth, Environment & Society and contributed to climate research at the McMaster Centre for Climate Change.
Lejla holds a Bachelor of Arts with highest honours in Mass Communication, complemented by a minor in Physical Geography from Carleton University, and a Master of Science in Earth and Environmental Sciences from McMaster University.
Driven by her desire to make a meaningful impact on climate policy, Lejla is committed to utilizing her expertise and experience to contribute to the field. When not at work, you can find Lejla exploring the outdoors, trying new food, and staying active with her family.
