Jamie Houssian has been in the renewable energy business since 2009 and has worked for Elemental Energy in a variety of roles since 2010. He is currently the principal, responsible for discovering new business and investment opportunities and setting the strategic direction of the company. Elemental invests in, develops and manages renewable energy projects across Canada and the United States. The company owns and operates wind farms in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, solar projects in Alberta, a run-of-river hydro plant in British Columbia and has various projects in development throughout North America.
Prior to joining Elemental, Jamie worked at Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital. His first career was in the film business, where he was president and co-founder of The Collective Films, an award-winning documentary and commercial film production company. He has been on the Pembina Institute's board of directors since 2020.
Jamie has an MBA from the University of British Columbia and a BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
