Hanneke Brooymans is a senior communications lead supporting the Business Renewables Centre – Canada and the Carbon Dixoide Removal Centre. Hanneke has a bachelor of science degree specializing in environmental biology from the University of Alberta and a journalism diploma from MacEwan University. She was the environment reporter at the Edmonton Journal for a decade, frequently writing on energy issues. She has also written articles for magazines and penned a book called Water in Canada: A resource in crisis.
Following her journalism career, Hanneke worked in Alberta Environment and Parks with Crown prosecutors to devise creative sentencing projects for the penalty funds that came out of prosecutions of environmental offences.
